Fannie Mae is the federal agency that purchases home mortgages from large lenders.  Their site has information for buyers and sellers.  Also, there is a link to review "foreclosed properties" in your area.

 Freddie Mac is another federal agency that performs the same duties as Fannie Mae.  Visit their website for additional information.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development, commonly known as HUD, is an excellent site for first-time hombuyers.  This site has a lot of information, so contact us if it is too confusing.

The Pennsylvania Department of Banking has useful information to homebuyers.  You can also use their site to make sure that your mortgage lender or broker is licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
